Sales Rise with Referrals

June 27th, 2009 by admin

There are lots of different ways that you can build a business but one of the most popular ways is through referrals. When starting a business, no matter what kind of business, the more people you know, the more customers you will likely have. This is why people join networking groups so that they can meet more people. Word of mouth marketing is most effective. Impress someone and you will not have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on advertising and marketing.

In order to get referrals, you can join a referral network. A referral network is where businessmen and women meet, learn about each other’s business and refer businesses to one another whenever possible. A referral network is a little different from a networking group because each member of a referral network is under pressure to refer as much business to other members as possible. That means, each meeting can mean new clients. If you are in sales, joining a networking group like this is a very good way to meet your sales quotas. There are, of course lots of networking groups in each city but there may not be many referral networks so you will have to search for them.

Meeting people and networking is not the only thing that you have to do to build your business. You also must show every client you have that you offer quality services or products. If your existing customers are satisfied then they are likely to refer their friends and anyone they know to you. However, if they are not satisfied, then you are not likely to get any referrals from them. Some people who are in sales think that they should only spend time selling and do nothing else. They will not have many repeat customers. Those who spend a large portion of their time keeping customers happy may find that customers keep coming back to them. Those happy customers will definitely refer new customers in time.
